About Khandan
At the onset of the Iranian revolution Khandan, aged 9, left Iran with her family. Her primary and secondary education was spent between numerous international schools as Khandan travelled between Greece, USA, Germany and France, before finally settling in the UK in 1984. Attending Kingston University, Khandan graduated with a BA honours in Fashion Design before moving to New York to pursue a career in Fashion where she worked for leading brand names such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret and Gap Inc.
Khandan’s lifelong passion with painting and the Fine Arts has always been integral and of importance to her and during her last few years in New York she had three successful Exhibitions.
Her art is primarily driven by her emotions, her perspective on society and human behaviour, current affairs and the beauty of nature. She continues to sell her paintings exploring these themes through figurative and abstract paintings using mixed media.
